TAMPA BAY TIMES WATCH
PAUL TASH CEO TAMPA BAY TIMES GOT THE PAPER 100 MILLION IN DEBT FROM BAD DECISONS AND NOW HE WANTS YOU TO BAIL HIM OUT ALL THE WHILE HE MAKES AN OBSCENE $487,000 PLUS BENEFITS WHILE HE SELLS OFF ASSESTS AND LAYS OF LONG TIME WORKERS. THIS GOOFBALL HAS THE UNMITIGATED GALL TO ASK FOR YOUR MONEY TO KEEP HIS SINKING PAPER AFLOAT
ATTENTION ALL TAMPA BAY TIMES READERS AND NON-READERS
PAUL TASH CEO OF THE TAMPA BAY TIMES MAKES 487,000 PER YEAR PLUS BENEFITS AND HIS DECISIONS GOT THE TAMPA BAY TIMES INTO OVER 100 MILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT AND HE HAS THE GALL TO ASK FOR DONATIONS TO KEEP THE TAMPA BAY TIMES AFLOAT, WHILE HE POCKETS $487,000 PLUS BENEFITS FOR RUNNING THE TAMPA BAY TIMES INTO THE FINANCIAL GROUND.
IF THIS KIND OF FINANCIAL STUPIDITY AND INCOMPETANCE WAS ANYWHERE ELSE THE TAMPA BAY TIMES WRITERS WOULD BE ALL OVER THIS STORY BUT WHAT DO WE GET? CRICKETS ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Since Poynter Institute is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation they have to make their Federal Income Tax available for public inspection which shows Paul Tash's obscene $487,000 salary. But since the Tampa Bay Times is a for profit (over 100 million in debt) they do not have to make their Federal Income Tax forms available for public inspection.
So here is the Tampa Bay Times and Paul Tash begging for money to keep their biased slanted Tampa Bay Times publishing going because they got ran into the financial ground to 100 million dollars by the Grand Pubah Paul Tash. The Tampa Bay Times is soliciting money but they won't show their Federal Income Tax forms. They harp on transparency and when they ask for money they should be happy to show their income tax to the people they are asking to keep them afloat, but they won't because they have a double standard.
The Tampa Bay Times solicitation for money donations speal in the hard copy newspaper says:
"Support the Times. Support the Tampa Bay Times by giving a tax deductible donation to the Investigative Fund or the Journalism Fund. Investigative journalism is vital to our community. It exposes injustice and holds the powerful accountable. See some of the most impactful stories at tbtim.es/impact2020. The Journalism Fund helps sustain our newsroom, including coverage of government, business, sports and entertainment. Online donations can be made at tampabay.com/donate. Donate by check to: Tampa Bay Times C/O Poynter Institute 801 Third St. S. St. Petersburg, FL 33701 Please write the name of the fund you like to support in the subject line."
From the Tampa Bay Times Website on donations says the money can be used for legal fees. Legal fees are not Journalism nor Investigate reporting as the hard copy newspaper states your donations will go:
"The Tampa Bay Times appreciates donations and financial assistance from individuals, foundations and sponsors who seek to support our journalism. The Times always retains editorial independence. Our financial supporters do not dictate the stories we pursue and are not involved in reporting and editing those stories. The Times is committed to fair, accurate reporting and transparency is a critical component of that responsibility. If a story or series is supported by funder(s), the Times will disclose the funding source, so that the reader is made aware of the relationship. Monies we receive help fund newsroom positions, journalism projects, legal fees and essential tools and technology. Gifts to the Times are tax-deductible through our owner, the nonprofit Poynter Institute for Media Studies. This support is invaluable as we strive to rise above the financial challenges facing local newsrooms around the country. We want to keep our community informed and empowered, as we have for more than 100 years."
The Tampa Bay Times hard copy newspaper conveniently does not mention that your donations can go to legal fees:
The Tampa Bay Times hard copy says one thing the Tampa Bay Times online website adds a some things donations go: "Monies we receive help fund newsroom positions, journalism projects, legal fees and essential tools and technology." In hard copy paper states: "Support the Times. Support the Tampa Bay Times by giving a tax deductible donation to the Investigative Fund or the Journalism Fund. Investigative journalism is vital to our community. It exposes injustice and holds the powerful accountable. See some of the most impactful stories at tbtim.es/impact2020. The Journalism Fund helps sustain our newsroom, including coverage of government, business, sports and entertainment."
Notice buired in the Tampa Bay Times website it states that your donations can go to legal fees. Why in the world would anyone want to donate to a fund that solicits for Journalism and Investigative donations when that money can be used for the Tampa Bay Times legal fees?
The Tampa Bay Times falsely states that: "The Times is committed to fair, accurate reporting and transparency is a critical component of that responsibility." The Tampa Bay Times is not committed to fair, accurate reporting nor is transparency a critical component because the Tampa Bay Times does not have any. More false platitudes from the Tampa Bay Times:
"This support is invaluable as we strive to rise above the financial challenges facing local newsrooms around the country. We want to keep our community informed and empowered, as we have for more than 100 years."
So while the Tampa Bay Times says they are striving to rise above the financial challenges the Tampa Bay Times CEO Paul Tash has run and continues to run the Tampa Bay Times into the financial ground to the tune of over 100 million dollars and this financial goofball is still pulling down an obscene salary while he sells off assets and lays off long time workers and they asks for donations that can be used for legal fees.
The biggest financial challenge at the Tampa Bay Times is Paul Tash. Where are the Tampa Bay Investigative Journalists to do an extensive story on Paul Tash's financial incompetance that has run the Tampa Bay Times into the ground. Where is this so-called purported transparency the Tampa Bay Times speaks of?
The Tampa Bay Times states:
"We want to keep our community informed and empowered, as we have for more than 100 years."
The Tampa Bay Times is only interested in keeping the community informed of what the Tampa Bay Times wants to inform the community. The Tampa Bay Times will not and does not want to inform the community of what the Tampa Bay Times does not want you to be informed of. If the times really wanted to get rid of their financial challenges the first place to start is firing the knucklehead that got them into over 100 million in debt, Paul Tash, but they don't do that because those behind the Tampa Bay Times keep him there for his pinko politics. If this occured anywhere else the Tampa Bay Times would be all over it in an investigative story. But since its's their incompetent Grand Pubah that has their purported transparent tongue tied in knots.
"Investigative journalism is vital to our community. It exposes injustice and holds the powerful accountable."
Why isn't the Tampa Bay Times Investigation Journalists exposing the injustice of Paul Tash running the Tampa Bay Times into over 100 million in debt all the while he pulls down an obscene salary plus benefits, sells off assets and lays off long time good workers because of his financial incompetence? BECAUSE THE TAMPA BAY TIMES HAS A SICK AND DISGUSTING DOUBLE STANDARD.
Mark Twain was right over 100 years ago when he stated: "If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed."
